Video: Wrestling Origins – Part 4

When I was a kid growing up in Canada they used to do the days in school where you had to do a write-up of what you wanted to be, some people picked a doctor or a teacher or a veterinarian or a fireman, whatever it was, and I went up to the teacher one day and said, “I’m a little confused because I haven’t decided what I’m going to be yet. It’s either going to be a pro wrestler or a pro hockey player. I haven’t decided.” They’re like “okay”, like it was that easy you can just decide to be one or the other. But even from a young age, I always wanted to be a professional athlete and compete in some capacity. I just loved it.

I grew up playing hockey, I played right up to junior and I was a goalie. I was infatuated with goalie equipment and Grant Fuhr was my favourite player. I had D&R pads just like him except we had Flyers’ colours in the town that I grew up in so it was orange, white and black instead of orange, white and blue for his Oilers’ colours. Of course I wanted to go as far as I could in hockey, but at a certain point you realize that you might be good but it’s a different level of good or great or amazing to move on to top levels of junior, then continue on to get drafted into the pros and unfortunately realized my hockey dreams weren’t going to come true so I had to make my wrestling dreams a reality.

Video: Wrestling Origins – Part 3

Wow. I don’t miss doing that at all, but least not (during) the dead of winter. This is the second floor, this is where we would come to train. This obviously is a new door, this used to be an old, beat up wood door and this was kind of the entrance way. I’m going to sneak in here and see what we got.

There’s a wall there now so there’s no gym here obviously in what is now an office building. We used to come in, walk down the hallway, the gym was down there and this was the second floor. You can see some of the original brick here and it’s bringing back a lot of memories, good memories.

When we walked through the doors here, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I haven’t been in this building in 20 years, but we came around the corner, walked through the door and the stairwell is in the same condition that we had left it in 20 years ago. All my dreams for wrestling, getting on the road to becoming what I wanted to be (which was to be a professional wrestler that travelled the world) all started here and walking up these stairs. So I’m going to do it one more time for old times sake.

Jay-Reso.com – Nine Years Online!

Today marks the 9th year anniversary of Jay-Reso.com and I just have to start by saying thank you!

It’s been nine years since I had the crazy idea of starting a little website, which I never thought would really take off. I’ve mentioned this pretty much every year, but to those of you who don’t know… this site was only supposed to last two weeks! Haha! We’ve been through a lot over the years and I’m glad to say that we’re still here and still going strong!!

I never thought that this site would grow the way that it has over the past nine years. It’s funny to think that on our first anniversary I made a joke about the site becoming official and eight years later, I’m thrilled and honoured to say that’s exactly what we are and I have to send a HUGE thank you to Natalie (and of course, the man himself) for that! This past year has been a pretty good one, with Edge and Christian starting their own podcast (which has been a huge and of course hilarious success) all hail the Rocket Strappers and of course, big shout out to all the five-second hosers out there! and personally, I’ve had the opportunity to meet Christian not once, but twice a few months back (and as you can see above, we were able to get our current layout signed by him too!).

None of this would be possible without the continual support and kind words from all of you guys out there, so again, thank you! Without all of you, there is no way that the site would be where it is today. Also, have to thank a few people individually… as always, Carmisha and David… the site would not be here if you guys didn’t persuade me to go through with the craziness, but I have never looked back and I really do appreciate it guys. Again, a huge thank you to Natalie as well, I owe ya, I really do and thanks again for the kind words and support, it means more than you know! I would also like to take another moment to thank the man himself, Jay ‘Christian’ Reso. I can’t say enough kind words about the guy and I really do mean that. I don’t think there are any words to describe how proud I am to be a fan of yours & soon enough I know that we’ll be calling you a Hall Of Famer! I know that I’ve said this to you personally already, but thanks for everything and thank you once again for all of the support; it means a lot more than you realise.

So…once again a huge thank you to each and every one of you. I hope that you all know that I appreciate every bit of support and it doesn’t go unnoticed.

Here’s to yet another year!!

WWE.com: 20 Most Epic Entrances Of All Time

#20. Gangrel / The Brood / The New Brood

Vampires are pretty scary on their own, right? But Gangrel took everything about the vampire lifestyle and cranked it up.

As his eerie gothic music started up, the arena turned a gory shade of red and a ring of fire formed on the stage. Soon, the mysterious Gangrel rose up from the flames.

In some sort of mystic ceremony, he stood at the top of the ring steps, spitting out a viscous red liquid into the WWE Universe, dribbling some onto his white shirt.

If that’s not enough to make someone think twice about agreeing to the match, then what is?
