Captain Charisma gears up for Survivor Series showdown

AUSTIN, TX – This Sunday, Shelton Benjamin defends his Intercontinental Championship on WWE’s first Pay-Per-View since he captured the prize at Taboo Tuesday. If former IC Champion Christian has anything to do with it, Survivor Series will mark the end of Benjamin’s dream come true.
Having defeated both the 400-pound Viscera (Christian’s one-time only problem solver) and Tyson Tomko (Christian’s full-time problem solver) two weeks straight, it’s pretty apparent that the self-proclaimed “Captain Charisma” will have to take down the blue-chipper by himself. Monday night, WWE.com caught up with the "Peep-le’s Champion” to find out just how he is preparing to dethrone his opponent.
"Obviously I’m going to use my experience advantage against him,” Christian says with a look of sheer confidence. “Sure, I know he had a great amateur background, but as far as experience goes in WWE, and a wrestling ring, I’ve got over 10 years’ experience.”
Aside from having more ring time than Benjamin, Christian is also one of the most decorated champions in WWE history. The Toronto native has held the World Tag Team Titles on 10 different occasions, as well the IC Title (three times), and the now-defunct Hardcore, Light-Heavyweight, and Hardcore Championships. His accomplishments aside, Christian simply feels that he is also the better Superstar.
"I’m also going to use the obvious advantage: my brains – I’m a lot smarter than him, a lot stronger than him, a lot better looking than him, and also a lot faster than him. I’m going to prove that he’s a flash in the pan. Right now, the time for Shelton is 14:59, and his 15 minutes of fame are just about up. It’s about time that Christian regains the Intercontinental Title.”
While the Toronto native’s large problem solvers have been unable to figure out how to solve Benjamin, it is likely that the always-scheming Captain Charisma will have a plan in place. And in the event that that it doesn’t work out as planned, one can be sure that Christian also has a contingency plan.
"To me, the championship is the most important thing,” Christian said, “because that proves that you are the best. So yeah, I will definitely have a plan in place to recapture the IC Title, but you don’t have to worry about it failing, because it won’t. It’s fool-proof.”
