Groaning, he arched up against his lover, feeling closer to him than he'd ever been. As he felt that one last fulfilling thrust deep inside him he cried his release, following his lover over the edge.

Panting heavily he relished the weight of his partner's spent body as it flopped almost protectively atop his, breathing slowly normalizing as they continued to hold each other tightly. Christian almost scared to open his eyes in case this dream floated away, and he found himself still entrapped.

His lover moved languidly; compassionate fingers tracing a spiral path down his face, neck and chest - softly caressing the marks on his body. One by one, he gently kissed each fading bruise, frowning when he came across one that seemed newer. His anger threatened to spill over though when he came across a fresh cut that had been half hidden on Christian's left side. No wonder he always wore a shirt in the ring. Carefully he trailed his finger to one side of the wound - his face wearing a mixture of anger and pain. Christian winced at the close contact to the cut and opened his eyes, seeing the naked emotion deep within the brown ones gazing back at him.

"Parting shot?" he queried, he didn't trust himself to say more.

Christian just hung his head and nodded.

"I don't understand how you could let him do that to you."

He was insistent - he hadn't meant to be - but he couldn't help it. Christian had suffered the abuse for so long it had become like normal life to him. He knew no other way. Always Edge had been the leader, he the follower. Whatever Edge had said, he did. And whatever Edge did to him - he had just accepted as the way of things. It may have gone on forever too, if ECW hadn't been bought by Vince McMahon, bringing him here with it, bringing him to Christian and freeing him from Edge's torment.
