May 18th, 2004 - Christian sidelined with sore back
Christian has been out of action due to a sore lower back. Tyson Tomko took his place at the house shows and management feels he did very well from what I heard. Christian should be back in action in a week or two.

THE ROYAL RUMBLE MATCH
The Royal Rumble match is widely known as the most exciting hour of the year. 15 RAW Superstars and 15 SmackDown! Superstars in the same ring, all vying for a shot at their respective championship.

While Christian may not be the largest man entering the Royal Rumble, few can doubt that he has not only the heart and desire to win the whole thing, but he is about as crafty a Superstar as there is. Where he lacks in size, Christian makes up with effort and brains, and that could be enough for him to pull off an upset and win the Rumble.

It’s important to note that Christian has a track record of success in Battle Royals. At Judgment Day 2003, Christian last eliminated Booker T to win the Intercontinental Championship, a Battle Royal he won due to his craftiness and smarts. While the stakes are higher and the competition is more fierce this time around, Christian is one of those who can sneak his way to victory – and he knows that!

Most importantly, Christian will have his peeps on his side come the Royal Rumble, and in honor of the peepulation cheering him on, he may just have the inspiration to win it all!

Christian was mentioned on Lance Storm's Comment Board.
Question about Christian
I know this is a Lance Storm board but does Christian smoke?
Thank you.

Lance's Response:
No but he gets me steamed a lot.

This weekend's Three-Way match between RVD, Jericho, and Christian was said to draw high praise from WWE Execs as well as the 4-Way which threw Randy Orton into the mix.

Management was said to be very happy with what they saw of Christian working as a babyface with Lita at the house shows this weekend. I don’t know where they are going with the angle between the two of them, but the company now has some confidence that they could turn him babyface and have it work.

Christian mentioned by Rob Van Dam in a November 21st interview

And finally, when asked if he knows who he’ll be facing at WMXX and who he’d like to face, Rob says he doesn’t know who it’ll be name wise as he’s the “last person to stick his head round the door” of a production meeting, but if he could choose he’d go against Christian in a Ladder match for his IC Title.

When it was discovered that Booker T was injured and the Intercontinental Championship would have to come off him, Brian Gewirtz was the main man behind the choice of giving Christian the championship at the Raw-Brand house show a few weeks back. Not only is Gewirtz a huge supporter of Edge & Christian, but both he and Vince McMahon felt that a title change at a house show would be a suprise and could help increase attendance if fans thought that a title change could actually happen on one of those shows.

As many have now read, Booker T lost the Intercontinental Championship to Christian at the Raw-Brand house show in Des Moines, Iowa last night. It looks like Booker's back problems were the reason for this title change, since Booker was having issues with his back on the Australian tour. It appears that Booker's back condition is serious enough that it could keep the 5 time WCW Champion out for 6-8 weeks. That means he would miss Summerslam, and could possibly miss the next Raw-Brand only PPV in September with WWE Unforgiven.

The WWE should address this title change tonight on Raw, and they will most likely start setting up a new Intercontinental Championship fued for Christian so he can defend the title at Summerslam. Originally, there were rumors that Booker would have defended the IC title in a fatal 4-way match against Christian, Test, and Scott Steiner at Summerslam but it's not certain if the WWE will continue with that plan and just insert someone else to take Booker's place. If they do, the possible replacement could be The Hurricane, since Hurricane & Christian had their issues last week on Raw. We'll have to wait and see how this development turns out.

In case you haven't read the house show results from last night in Des Moines, Iowa, Christian defeated Booker To capture the Intercontinental title. The assumption is that Booker T's back pain will probably cause him to take more time off from TV and thus, they did the title change to get the belt off of him. However, it does come as a bit of a surprise that the match and consequent title change didn't happen on Raw later tonight but we shall see how it is explained.

The word going around is that Christian lost the IC Title last week because they felt that having two heel champions (Christian and HHH) wasn't the best idea for business. With Booker T, they can have a feel-good title defense at each house show; since you know HHH is retaining. There has also been some disappointment with Christian's in-ring work lately.

No Holds Barred: One on one with good ol’ Jim Ross
Speaking of contributors, it’s hard not to notice that a good number of them hail from north of the border.
J.R. has nothing but praise for the WWE’s Canadian content.
“When I got this job in 1993, I went about the task of working with Vince McMahon to rebuild and get younger as it relates to our talent roster and we started searching high and low for talent,” Ross said. “We were very fortunate that along the way we were introduced by Carl DeMarco to Adam Copeland, who’s Edge, and of course Christian and Test. Trish Stratus joined us. All from the Ontario area.”

Apparently, the WWE is using it's "Road to Wrestlemania" house show tour to try out several possible matches that might end up on the final show in Seattle. Two of these possible matches are The Dudley Boyz vs. Christian & Chief Morley and a triple threat match for the Women's Championship between champion Victoria, Trish Stratus, and Jazz. Obviously the WWE will have to wait and see how Bubba Ray Dudley recovers from his recent house show injury before scheduling him into any permanent house show plans. Having Christian team with Morley does make sense since Christian's normal partner, "Y2J" Chris Jericho, will be busy with his own match at Wrestlemania when he takes on "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels.

WWE Interview with Scotty 2 Hotty:
You can read the entire interview here
WWE.com: That's what's cool about the show is that there's something for everyone, whether you prefer wrestling or entertainment.

Scotty: Yeah. That's why Shawn Michaels was so great; he was so good at both of them. He was the best at both of them. Same thing with The Rock really. He's excellent at both. But I like the Booker T and Goldust stuff. Christian and (Chris) Jericho's stuff has been awesome. I think Christian is one of the most underrated guys. I used to say Billy Gunn. Christian, when you work with him, you realize how good he is. If you watch him, you go, "He's good at what he does." But when you work with him, he'll come up with some really good ideas. When they let him do his thing, he's great. He's probably the most underrated guy there, I'd say.

Ross Report 12.13.02:
...and the four-team elimination Tag Team Title Match, not unlike any other multiple team presentation, has the chance to be very good or very average. I look for this RAW contribution to be closer to very good than anything else because of the talent involved in the match and the story behind the teams, as well.

Fans speak out:
In the March 2003 Issue of The Wrestler a fan tells the magazine how off the mark they were in not picking Christian in their "mock WWF draft"

Christian has the edge.
"As a concerned first-time reader, I feel the inherent urge to point out your deficiencies. I ferociously read through your choices for the brand extension draft ("Our WWF Draft: This Is The Way It Should Have Been!"), which is the reason I picked up the September 2002 issue of The Wrestler in the first place.

How did you misfire? By not drafting Christian. I realize he wasn't a top pick in the real draft either, but I can't believe you left him out altogether. The Wrestler staff must believe the more talented, popular, and marketable superstar is his "older brother," Edge. That reeks of heinousness!

Your staff fails to realize that Christian has the same credentials as Edge, except Christian is also capable of being a reliable, trustworthy heel. Just look at how WWE is able to utilize Kurt Angle week after week. And who doesn't love to see Christian throw a temper tantrum?

Christian can be mysterious (as with The Brood), serious (as with The Un-Americans), and downright hilarious (as with E & C). Plus, Christian captured every WWE title except the World championship. His versatility is awesome.

And you guys totally missed it."

Speaking of teams, Jericho and Christian continue to get better and better, too, but the team that may have the most legs long term is Regal and Storm. I would not be surprised to see Regal and Citizen Storm wearing tag team gold someday. They have great chemistry.

Those participating in the upcoming WWE International tour left yesterday headed for India, where their first show is scheduled for Thursday night in New Dehli. The RAW staff on the tour includes Kane, Chris Jericho, Christian, Bubba & Spike Dudley, Booker T, Rob Van Dam, Test, Jeff Hardy William Regal, Lance Storm, D-Lo Brown, Raven, Tommy Dreamer, Goldust, Justin Credible, Ivory, Al Snow, Triple H, and Hurricane. As of this report, it remains unclear as to whether Triple H will be wrestling on the tour, just participatin in promos, or remaining behind the scenes.

This week on The No Holds Barred Radio show Diamond Dallas Page said the following:

He loved working with Christian and calls him a great young talent.

Ross Report 10.25.02
I am anxious to see how long Chris Jericho and Christian can survive with the World Tag Titles because in a VERY short time, they will be a VERY good team. Both are also valuable as single performers.

As you may expect, everyone from last nights TLC match were battered a bruised after the match. There have not been any reports of serious injuries but many ice packs were being passed around. And I'm sure some of the guys had to be examined by the medical staff.

WWE will be returning to Bryce Jordan Center at Penn. State University on Friday, November 8 at 7:30pm. Superstars scheduled to appear include The Undertaker, Triple H, Kane, Chris Jericho, Rob Van Dam, Booker T, Trish Stratus, Stacy Keibler, The Big Show, Goldust, Jeff Hardy, The Hurricane, Test, Christian, Lance Storm, Randy Orton, and more. Tickets go on sale Saturday, October 12 at 8:30 a.m.

For anyone wondering, this does not mean that The Undertaker is now a RAW brand wrestler. WWE just decided to break ranks and mix the talent at some of the house shows. Also, Christian will be teaming up with former tag team partner Edge at next weekend's Calgary house show. This is WWE's added bonus to get more fans out to the shows.

Several people within the WWE believe there is something now to the story about Test and Christian being asked to cut their hair short to resemble Storm and Regal. There wasn't much belief into this story until the Unamericans began to break up last week and how both Christian and Test lost this week on RAW (especially Test losing to Al Snow).

Ross Report 10.04.02
The Un-Americans look to be regrouping after Monday's RAW and this weekend William Regal and Lance Storm will team to see how well they do together. Both these men are bright and I feel can make a solid tag team. Not sure of the creative direction for Christian and Test, either, but being repackaged might be the best for them. Too bad the Un-American presentation went south as I felt it had potential and is now a lost opportunity for the wrong reasons.

Ross Report 9.27.02
RAW weekend houseshows will feature Triple H versus Bubba Dudley, RVD vs. Flair, and a tag title rematch between the new tag champs, Kane and Hurricane, against the Un-Americans in West Palm Beach on Saturday and Beaumont, Texas on Sunday. Newcomers Mark Jindrak and Johnny Stamboli will also get more in-ring time this weekend on the RAW events.

I think that Lance Storm and Christian are one of the potentially better teams we have had in WWE in quite some time. More aggression and a more pronounced mean streak is about all they need.
