E&C’s Pod Of Awesomeness – 25th August 2017

NJPW’s Kenny Omega

What’s up, Hosers?!

Welcome to the latest edition of E&C’s Pod of Awesomeness.

This week E&C were joined by Kenny Omega from New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW)! Kenny talked about his journey, from Deep South to his time as part of the Bullet Club, and how his initial New Japan persona was supposed to be similar to Steve Austin’s Ringmaster. Also, he touched on having freedom in the ring, and how it unlocked the Kenny Omega we know today.

The guys also compared notes on each other’s attention to detail within their matches, all the way down to thinking through exactly how long they would be affected by repeated kicks to the leg? And most importantly, they let us know the importance of having a good dance partner in the ring.

Of course they couldn’t wrap the week without a little Mayweather vs. McGregor!

Daniel Bryan Talks Being a Dad, Up-and-Coming Wrestlers, and Concussions

What’s up, Hosers?!

On this week’s pod, E&C were joined by a WWE legend, and the current GM of SmackDown, Daniel Bryan! Bryan talked about how life-changing fatherhood is, before delving into the current state of wrestling and some of the guys he loves to watch.

Daniel also walked the guys through the timeline that led to his in-ring departure, the specific diagnosis he was given, and the progressive steps he’s currently taking to try and heal, to the point where an in-ring return could be possible. It was a fascinating talk, and one that could give hope to those who have dealt, or currently deal, with concussion issues.

Before that, though, E&C caught up for a while, sending their best wishes out to the Nature Boy, talking about why they both love SummerSlam, and answering some queries that came across Mega Matt’s desk of awesomeness during this past week.

NXT’s Drew McIntyre

“Don’t play a wrestler, be a wrestler.”

The above quote comes from WWE vet and current NXT wrestler Drew McIntyre, who joined E&C Pod in advance of his title match against Bobby Roode, at next week’s NXT Takeover. Among the many topics covered were Drew’s time in WWE, how he persevered while being away from the company, the difference in his attitude and outlook this time around, and the whirlwind day that was Orlando’s pre-WrestleMania NXT Takeover.

Also, we found out that Stone Cold’s “What?” originated on Christian’s voicemail and McIntyre revealed that E&C are partially to blame for how much he says brother brother, before he shared some kind words about Sir Thomas Dreamer (TommyTommy).

Prior to sitting down with Drew, E&C caught up for a bit, talking about Christian’s current acting gig, the Tommay Challenge, and the design on Edge’s first pair of Sexton Hardcastle tights.

LIVE Q&A with William Regal From London’s Film and Comic Con!

What’s up Hosers?!

Welcome to the latest edition of E&C’s Pod of Awesomeness.

This week the show went international, as E&C did an impromptu podcast/Q&A at the London Film and Comic Con with William Regal! In addition to answering questions from London’s finest Hosers, Christian did some singing, the guys called Tommy (TommyTommy) on stage, and Regal hit us with a hilarious Ric Flair story.

Before that, though, the guys paid tribute to the late, great Roddy Piper, talked about Shinsuke Nakamura’s upcoming title shot at SummerSlam, and about whether or not we’ll see a future fight between Jon Jones and Brock Lesnar.

WRESTLING INJURIES, Answering Some of Your Twitter Questions, and a Legendary Chris Jericho Story

What’s up, Hosers?!

Welcome to another edition of E&C’s Pod of Awesomeness.

This week’s show is all E&C, front to back, top to bottom. The guys start things off by giving their thoughts on the WWE’s latest PPV, Battleground, before answering some epic Twitter questions. And epic isn’t hyperbole in this case, as your questions resulted in some GREAT stories, including an all-timer from Christian about a Chris Jericho rib.

After that we got down to business and talked wrestling injuries–the challenges that wrestlers face when injured, how injuries alter storylines, and how E&C dealt with injuries over the course of their respective in-ring careers.

The Phenomenal One, AJ Styles

Welcome to another edition of E&C’s Pod of Awesomeness.

This week’s guest is Christian’s get, and a man who, after many successful years in the business, has finally gotten the chance to display his talents within the WWE, The Phenomenal One, AJ Styles! AJ took the guys through his career before WWE, from TNA to New Japan, before touching on what it was like to debut at the 2016 Royal Rumble.

He also talked wanting to face Shinsuke Nakamura at a future WrestleMania and what it was like to work with Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 33.

Then, Tommy (TommyTommy) dropped by for a more serious segment, and E&C answered some of your Twitter questions.

Talking TAG TEAM WRESTLING, Tales From the Indies with TOMMAY, and Your Voicemails!

What’s up, Hosers?!

This week’s E&C Pod is a special one, as the guys take an in-depth, extended look at tag team wrestling. The origin, how things evolved, then devolved, then evolved again, and amazing stories from their time as tag team wrestlers. I won’t ruin anything, but there’s some great advice from Stone Cold Steve Austin in there (the real one), Edge talks about nearly teaming with a former IC champ to create a “New” version of an old, legendary tag team, and Christian reveals what it took for him to finally cut off his long hair.

And before that, we have some of your voicemails, including one that’s, um, interesting? Plus TOMMAY returns to the show to talk about his Australia trip and reclaim his segment from Hobo Hank.

Here we go.

E&C’s Pod Of Awesomeness – 7th July 2017

Samoa Joe and The Mean Street Posse’s Pete Gas

What’s up, Hosers?!

In advance of Sunday’s WWE Great Balls of Fire PPV, E&C sat down with the man who’s going toe to toe with Brock Lesnar, Samoa Joe! And when I say the guys sat down with Joe, it’s kind of true. Christian drove to his house and made himself comfortable instantly, ensuring that he’ll never be asked back again.

In addition to covering GBOF, Joe reminisced with E&C and talked about some of his favorite all-time opponents, before finding out that Christian was following him via LiveJournal, even before they knew each other.

But before the guys talked to Joe, they had to catch up with another old friend, The Mean Street Posse’s own, Pete Gas. In addition to his book “Looking at the Lights: My Path from Fan to a Wrestling Heel,” Pete talked about his time with the WWE, misconceptions about his Greenwich upbringing, and not mocking Edge when he last saw him, even though Shane McMahon had asked him to.

All that, plus some singing and a Great Gazoo reference. It’s a jam-packed show…

Here. We. Go.
